Role Overview:
SikhRI seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and strengthen global HR practices for its international workforce of 50+ across 4 countries. The role will work closely with leadership to implement standardized, scalable, and legally compliant HR processes across regions, covering the full employee lifecycle for all categories, including full-time, part-time, contractors, volunteers, advisors, and board members. As an individual contributor, the HR Manager will drive workforce planning, engagement, and cross-functional execution while ensuring alignment with SikhRI’s values. This position reports directly to the Operations Director and requires working across multiple time zones and cultures.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboarding & Offboarding
Conduct employee orientation aligned with organizational values and management practices
Improve and implement an effective onboarding process to ensure smooth employee activation and integration
Improve and implement structured offboarding processes to support smooth employee transitions and knowledge transfer
Create, monitor, and report on requisition process (include job description, business case, 90-day deliverables, references, hiring team, risks, internal controls)
- Policies & Guidelines
Revise and develop HR policies, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures
Revise & develop country-specific Employee Handbooks
Standardize country-specific HR letter templates (e.g., offer letter, appointment letter, experience letter, appraisal letter, promotion letter)
Revise & develop Country-Specific Compensation and Benefits Package
Standardize the increment cycle review process
Develop leave policy including entitlements, approvals, enhancements, etc.
Provide guidance and support to leadership and employees on policy interpretation and implementation
Monitor and update the aforesaid on a continuous basis
Create an annual HR plan, including an operating budget and engagement calendar
- Talent Management & Employee Engagement
Design and implement an employee development plan
Design and implement a well-being, appreciation & conflict management plan
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state & local labor laws
Track HR data, metrics, insights & dashboards and report on actionable
Build succession planning frameworks & leadership pipelines
Maintain Org and departmental charts
Support department heads & supervisors in goal setting, performance feedback, and employee development planning
Advise managers on performance management issues and implement structured disciplinary processes
Qualifications
Essential
Master’s degree in Human Resources.
Minimum 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities in an organization with 50+ employees.
Experience managing HR operations across at least two geographies (such as India, US, UK, or Canada) in a global or distributed workforce environment.
Strong expertise in developing and implementing HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance frameworks.
Proven ability to manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and offboarding.
In-depth knowledge of international labor laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices across multiple regions.
Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and independently manage HR processes and governance structures.
Experience in building and managing compensation, benefits, and leave frameworks across geographies.
Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems, data, and reporting tools.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with leadership and cross-functional teams across departments.

Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
Certification in HR (such as SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent)
