About the Job
As an Android Engineer (Presales) at Wiseasy, based in India, you will play a crucial role in driving the adoption of our innovative payment solutions across the region. This is a client-facing role where you will support customers and business partners — including resellers, distributors, and system integrators — by developing demo applications and Proof of Concept (PoC) solutions using Android SDK resources, tools, and technical expertise to effectively promote, sell, and support our products and services. The primary goal is to strengthen our customer and partner ecosystem and drive mutual success. This role requires approximately 15–20% travel within India and potentially across the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Sales team to identify new business opportunities and drive customer acquisition across the Indian market.
- Engage with customers and business partners to understand technical requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
- Develop demonstrative applications to validate customer-specified proof of concepts.
- Ensure seamless integration of our SDKs and APIs into clients’ applications by analyzing logs and technical documents.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate customers on our products and solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely, effective resolutions.
- Stay informed on India’s digital payments landscape, including UPI, RuPay, and regulatory frameworks such as RBI guidelines, to better contextualize Wiseasy solutions for local clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in Android development or a Technical Support role, preferably in fintech or the card-present transaction domain.
- Prior experience with Android POS terminals, payment gateways, and EMV specifications is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Flutter, with hands-on experience in Android Studio or similar IDEs.
- Familiarity with India’s payments ecosystem (UPI, NPCI, RuPay, Aadhaar-based authentication) is a plus.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and troubleshoot software issues independently.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi or other regional Indian languages is an advantage. Mandarin communication skills will also be considered a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural, and multilingual environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building long-term customer relationships.
