Essential Responsibilities:
- Carries out tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), with guidance and support from more experienced staff
- Follows well-established internal rules and standard steps
- Understands internal standards and processes and uses them to make technical decisions
- Works with peers, manager, and project lead to understand tasks and review solutions
- May take part in code and design reviews

2–5 years of experience in software engineering, ideally in data engineering or data platforms. Strong skill in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience building and maintaining fully working data pipelines. Experience working in a cloud-based environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure) with some exposure to modern data platforms. Familiarity with workflow scheduling tools such as Apache Airflow. Experience with BigQuery or similar data warehousing technologies. Good understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control (Git), code reviews, testing, and CI/CD. Experience working with organized and unorganized data at scale, supporting analytics and reporting needs. Ability to fix issues, improve performance, and keep data pipelines reliable. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance quality and delivery deadlines. Good communication skills, able to work well with different teams. Some exposure to AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity while keeping code quality and security standards. Experience in financial services or other regulated industries is a plus.
Your Day to Day
- Design, build, and maintain fully working data pipelines using Python and SQL
- Build and support workflow scheduling (e.g., Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer) for scheduled and event-based data processing
- Work with BigQuery (or similar) to build scalable data warehousing solutions that support analytics and reporting
- Bring in and process data from internal systems and outside partners/vendors, including data from new regions
- Set up data quality checks, monitoring, and alerts to keep pipelines reliable and data accurate
- Fix production issues, improve query and pipeline performance, and make sure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met
- Work with different teams (Product, Risk, Credit Modeling, Compliance, Platform) to turn business/data needs into technical solutions
- Follow software engineering best practices — version control, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to boost productivity while keeping code quality and security standards
- Support proper data handling practices suited to a regulated financial services setting
What Do You Need to Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in software engineering, ideally with some exposure to data engineering or data platforms
