About the Role
Mercor is hiring U.K.-based Software Engineers for a research project with a top AI research lab. You’ll be part of a team of senior engineers helping build high-quality training data for advanced AI systems. This is a fully remote, project-based role, and successful work can improve your chances of being picked for future Mercor projects.
You’re a Good Fit If You:
- Have experience with COBOL
- Have at least 5 years of full-time software engineering experience
- Have worked at a well-known tech company (e.g., Slack, Notion, Stripe, Figma, etc.)
- Are currently based in the U.K.
- Can work 40 hours a week
Responsibilities
- Contribute strong engineering knowledge to AI model training projects
- Study and review software engineering problems and solutions
- Apply your COBOL knowledge to technical research tasks
- Work with senior software engineers in a remote setting
- Produce accurate, reliable, and well-organized technical content
- Maintain high engineering quality throughout your work
- Meet deadlines while staying detail-focused
- Take part in technical reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Support AI research with expert software engineering input
- Follow project guidelines and quality standards throughout the role
