About the Role

We need a Senior EDI Java Full Stack Developer to help build and improve our EDI and supply-chain platform. You will work on everything from fast services that handle many EDI documents daily to the web interface our customers use to track their orders and shipments in real time. This is a hands-on senior job: you will design complex features, solve big production problems, and guide other engineers while staying close to the code.

The platform handles standard EDI transactions (X12 and EDIFACT) for big retailers, manufacturers, and logistics companies. This includes purchase orders, invoices, shipping notices, and confirmations, all managed through data systems and a modern web interface.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices that ingest, translate, correlate, and track EDI documents end to end.

• Work on fast, live data pipelines (using Kafka/Flink) that link related documents together and keep track of where things stand

• Build both the backend (APIs) and the frontend (using React or Angular) – real screens customers actually use

• Work with different types of databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, ArangoDB) and make sure they run smoothly

• Deploy and manage our systems on IBM Cloud using Kubernetes

• Help set up and fix EDI document formats and mapping (X12 / EDIFACT), partner connections

• Dig into complex production issues, trace data, databases, figure out what’s really going wrong, and fix it for good

• Plan out big features – think through the best approach and see it through implementation, review, and release.

• Write tests, review code, and help keep our engineering quality high for reliability, performance, and security

• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and work closely with product and support teams

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software experience, especially recent Java (11/17+) and Spring Boot work

• Real full-stack experience – both frontend (React/Angular + TypeScript) and backend

• Experience working with EDI standards and formats (like 850, 810, 856, 997)

• Comfortable designing microservices and APIs (REST/GraphQL)

• Solid experience with databases at scale – MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, ArangoDB or similar

• Production Experience running things on IBM Cloud (or similar) with Kubernetes and Docker

• Strong debugging skills – you’re not afraid of messy production issues

• Comfortable with Git and CI/CD workflows

• Great communicator, and experienced in leading projects and mentoring others

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with stream processing tools like Apache Flink or Kafka Streams, or similar

• Deep Experience with graph databases like ArangoDB or Neo4j for correlation modeling

• Familiarity with B2B integration methods (AS2, SFTP, APIs-based)

• Experience managing infrastructure through code

• Background in supply chain, logistics, or EDI/B2B software
