ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
We want to hire a skilled Video Editor to join our growing content team. The right person should have experience in video editing and creating digital content, and a love for storytelling and entertainment. The job includes editing and making high-quality videos for digital platforms, improving content with creative storytelling, and working with the editorial and production teams to create engaging visuals.
The successful candidate should have good skills in modern video editing, a creative approach, and the ability to work quickly while keeping high standards.
Responsibilities:
• Edit and create high-quality videos content for digital and social media platforms.
• Review raw footage to find the best shots for visual stories.
• Cut and arrange footage for smooth transitions, good sound, and fitting background music.
• Perform colour grading and colour correction to keep a consistent look with the company’s style.
• Add graphics, text, captions, subtitles, and special effects to improve video quality.
• Design eye-catching thumbnails and visuals for digital platforms.
• Handle and Organize raw and edited video files well.
• Export videos in the right formats for online publishing and digital platforms.
• Work closely with editorial and production teams to deliver videos on time.
• Keep up with the latest trends in video editing, digital content, entertainment and social media platforms.
• Make sure all videos meet high journalistic and editorial standards.
• Optimize videos for digital platforms to maximize audience engagement.
• Meet deadlines while keeping quality and creativity high.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Visual Communication, Film Studies, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in video editing or post-production, especially in news, digital media, podcasts, interviews, lifestyle, or entertainment.
• Skill in video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
• Strong understanding of video editing basics, storytelling, timing, audio syncing, and colour correction.
• Good knowledge of motion graphics, effects, inserts, and quick video editing.
• Familiarity with AI tools used for video editing, content creation, and creative workflows.
• Good understanding of the Instagram and Facebook, including their video formats and content needs.
• Creative skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Great written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
• Previous experience in news, lifestyle, or entertainment media is a plus.
Additional Skills:
• Experience with motion graphics and animation.
• Knowledge of SEO for YouTube and video optimization.
• Familiarity with trends in digital content strategy and video engagement.
• Previous experience in film or entertainment journalism.
