Job Title: Sales Manager
Purpose of the position:
The Sales Manager plans sales strategies to meet placement and sales goals. The main goal is to increase sales and profit and to gain more market share by promoting and selling effectively while protecting our market share from competitors in the materials science field.
Focusing on the 4P’s of Marketing (Product, Price, Promotion, and Place), the Sales Manager leads marketing efforts, finds growth opportunities, and launches promotions to create demand and boost new product sales.
The role includes managing sales activities for division products, launching new products, gathering competitive data, understanding customer needs, creating sales tools, and tracking business results (product mix, volumes, prices, customer profit).
Location: New Delhi.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive sales of industrial microscopy systems in your area.
- Know the customers and how they buy, especially in fields like science, education, labs, manufacturing, and government.
- Know key people in your area, like scientists and professors, Geologists.
- Ability to Make a plan to meet sales targets on time
- Work well with all types of people in customer organizations. Understand customer needs and sell our products based on those needs.
- Ability to ‘Value Sell’, i.e. probe to find real needs/wants and then sell our Leica Industrial Microscopy Systems products (Hw & Sw) benefits which meet these needs.
- Handle multiple demos at once and look for new customers.
- Key account management experience.
- Manage sales leads using SFDC and focus on sales.
- Follow company standards and policies for work and improvement.
- Apply advanced marketing skills to understand what customers want and how they buy.
- Monitor of changes in the materials science market and work with specialists and teams.
- Choose the right products & prices to sell in each market, working with sales and marketing to meet customer needs and maximize profit.
- Identify growth opportunities in geography, and attracting the support in your area and work with marketing and local teams.
- Collect feedback from industrial customers and work with teams to prioritize features and plans.
- Analyze price trends for key products and competitive pricing.
- Help build a network of dealers and agents and create agreements with other companies.
- Support the Divisional Manager and Sales Managers in setting goals for sales channels.
Our Expectations
- Knowledge of Industrial Microscopy and how it is used in the industry is important.
- A degree in Physics or Mechanical Engineering is good, but strong knowledge of materials science for Optical microscopy is just as valuable.
- You should know about software systems used in the industry and materials science.
- Experience with digital microscopes and imaging for examining surfaces is also needed.
- Past experience in similar field
- You should have at least 3 to 4 years of experience selling in the Material Science or Industry Market.
