Backend Developer (Golang)
What’s the Role About?
This role is about building software solutions that solve user needs or business problems. You will design, write code, and build software applications using the right tools and languages. You will work with different teams to gather needs, share ideas, and ensure projects run well.
What You’d Be Doing
- Designing, building, software applications based on requirements, using the right programming languages and tech.
- Analyzing designs to determine the coding and integration needed for projects.
- Making small improvements updates and code changes to user software applications on various platforms.
- Writing testing plans, protocols and documentation for your part of the app; finding and fixing bugs, and suggesting improvements.
- Finding ways to improve performance, and making code run faster.
- Providing ongoing maintenance, updates and bug fixes to keep software running well up to date.
- Collaborating with engineering, sales, and customer service teams on software projects.
- Supporting internal and external software products and coming up with new ideas based on market trends.
- Working with other software engineers and partners to create reliable and cost-effective solutions.
- Communicating with development partners about design status and project progress and fixing issues.
Recommended Education & Experience
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Usually 4-6 years of work experience in applications engineering, programming, or a related field, or an advanced degree with little experience. .
- Strong, hands-on experience in Go (Golang) for backend development and managing multiple tasks in code.
- Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers for fast service communication.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL (a database), including schema design and SQL improvement.
- Experience with Redis for super-fast data access.
- Familiarity with React.js for building interactive front-end interfaces – hooks, state management (Redux/Context API), and component-based structure.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills. .
- Experience with pricing/quoting platforms is a plus.
Preferred Certifications
- Certifications in programming languages/tools (Golang, gRPC, Protobuf, PostgreSQL, Redis).
