Role Overview
Most Android developer jobs work on the part of the app people actually see and use. This one’s different. You’ll be working deep inside the Camera Framework — the Camera2 API, Camera Service parts, Multimedia Frameworks, and Video Codecs. Basically, you’ll be building and improving the core software that camera apps are built on, not the camera apps themselves
We’re looking for an experienced Android Developer to join our Camera Solutions team. You should have strong skills in Android’s Camera Framework, multimedia tech, and native Android development. You’ll be building and improving camera software, making the user experience better, fixing tricky issues, and helping drive new ideas in camera technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain parts of the Android Camera Framework and related software
- Work closely with the Camera2 API, Camera Service modules, Multimedia Frameworks, and Video Codecs
- Build fast, reusable, and reliable software using Java, C++, and JNI
- Improve how camera apps use memory, speed, and battery
- Write and run tests to make sure the software works well
- Work with different teams to deliver complete camera features
- Find and fix issues reported by real users
- Contribute to research, new technical ideas, patents, and technical papers
Degree Requirement
A bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of the Android Platform, Camera2 API, Multimedia Framework, Video Codecs, and the Google Camera Framework (Camera Service Module)
- Hands-on experience with Java 8, C++, and JNI Development
- Multithreading, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Design Patterns
- Good understanding of operating systems
- Experience with Android Studio and Gradle
- Knowledge of Git and Perforce (version control tools)
- Experience writing automated tests
- Strong understanding of how to improve memory, power, and performance
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Camera Application Development.
- Knowledge of Android HAL and Camera Stack structure.
- Some experience with image processing tech
- Experience debugging tricky multimedia/camera issues
- Familiar with Agile development
