Role Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Architect with deep expertise in building envelope systems, advanced Revit production to lead technical development of complex architectural projects. This role requires a highly detail-oriented professional who excels in translating design intent into technically rigorous, coordinated, and constructable documentation.
The successful candidate will serve as technical authority on project teams, leading the development of architecture systems, faade detailing, and BIM based documentation from Design Development through Construction Administration. Candidates should have significant experience resolving complex conditions across disciplines.
The ideal candidate is deeply committed to enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, completeness, and speed of the design, documentation, and construction process. They will champion Suffolks design-build vision, leveraging innovative tools, technologies, and procedures to exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead delivery strategy across projects
- Define delivery framework & technical direction
- Establish QA/QC governance and workflows
- Coordinate with PMs and site teams for execution alignment
- Support escalation management and technical risk mitigation
- Drive resource planning and utilization
- Maintain high levels of curiosity to learn and develop deep expertise within the construction industry
- Maintain high standards for accuracy of deliverables, productivity, timeliness, and compliance with standards.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Define delivery frameworks and technical standards; act as sector SME; overseeing technical compliance and governance.
Project Scope
- Sector, portfolio, or regional oversight.
Decision-Making Authority
- Cross-project prioritization and escalation management.
Client Interaction
- Trusted client-facing technical lead.
People Responsibility
- May coach/mentor teams or sector pods
Commercial Exposure
- Resource planning and margin awareness; operational forecasting support.

Required Qualifications:
- Education: Professional degree in Architecture or Engineering is required.
- Experience: 10+ years with significant involvement in technical project delivery.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Revit proficiency with demonstrated experience leading BIM-based documentation on complex projects.
- Experience planning and programming space
- Deep experience detailing exterior building enclosures and facade systems.
- Proven success working on multiple projects and building types, across all project phases.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards and resources.
- Strong working knowledge of IBC, accessibility standards, and construction methods.
- Experience with large-scale projects.
- Experience working with complex building systems or specialty enclosure consultants.
- Familiarity with facade performance testing (ASTM E283, E331, AAMA standards, etc.).
- Proven success leading multiple projects concurrently and across all project phases, including Construction Documentation and Construction Administration
- Demonstrated passion for high-quality architecture and interior design with a strong visual and spatial sensibility
- Significant design experience, including workplace, hospitality, residential, and higher education
- Experience managing projects with significant visibility, complexity, or strategic importance
- Strong ability to balance conceptual design thinking with technical execution
- Interest in computational design, visualization technologies, AI-enabled workflows, and emerging design tools
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to proactively advance project work independently

- Proven ability to coordinate with consultants, fabricators, and contractors.
