The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an HR Technology Workday Lead for US Payroll, Time & Absence, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Actings as the expert in Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence, specializing in advanced configuration of U.S. pay rules, accruals, eligibility, earnings/deductions, and time valuation.Driving global deployment, optimization, and governance of US Payroll, Time, and Absence solutions, ensuring consistent design, compliance, best practices and documentation.Translate complex union requirements, labor laws, and organizational policies into scalable system designs while ensuring audit controls and regulatory compliance.Oversee configuration quality, testing cycles, troubleshooting (gross‑to‑net, retro, accruals, integrations), and mentor HR Technology Analysts.Partner cross‑functionally to deliver enhancements, lead design workshops, manage stakeholder communication, and champion continuous improvement and user‑centric processes.
Your Skills and Expertise
Basic Qualifications
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum):Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)Minimum eight (8) years of HR Technology experience.Minimum eight (8) years of Workday configuration experience specializing in Payroll, Absence, and/or Time Tracking
Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Workday Pro certification preferred in US Payroll, Time, and/or Absence.Strong expertise with US Workday Payroll.Proven success designing complex pay calculation rules, accrual configurations, time valuation, eligibility, and payroll workflows.Familiarity with union rules, shift differentials, premium pay, and complex pay components.Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, particularly with pay results and time valuation.Experience leading or mentoring analysts or technical team members.Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Experience with Workday Scheduling module preferred.
